Engagement After the Program

RLC EA alumni will have continued opportunities to connect, continue their learning, help to shape future cohorts of the program, and to apply the lessons and techniques learned to benefit their communities. Some of the Center’s exclusive alumni opportunities include:

Volunteer Engagement

RLC EA alumni will have the opportunity to serve as volunteers via country-based Alumni Chapters, coordinating in-country activities, conducting information sessions, and sharing their knowledge and experiences as Guest Speakers to cohort participants and Mentors to fellow alumni.

Transformation Fund

The Transformation Fund is a catalytic grant awarded to outstanding RLC EA alumni and country chapters to continue addressing pressing challenges and positively impacting their communities, countries and the Continent.

Mentorship Program

RLC EA connects alumni and cohort participants to mentors drawn from the industry as well as fellow alumni. Mentors are the role models, coaches, acquaintances, and guiding lights who play a crucial role in developing participants and alumni to positively improve their communities, enhance their leadership skills, and become global citizens.

Career Development Opportunities

The Alumni Relations Team shares internships, jobs, funding and scholarship opportunities with alumni of the program for their uptake.

Networking, Events & Continued Learning

The Regional Leadership Center continues to provide opportunities for networking including with potential investors through alumni pitching events and forums such as the Sankalp Africa Summit, social events including reunions, and capacity building opportunities on areas such as resource mobilization, investor readiness and strategic planning among others. Periodic capacity development assessments are also conducted on alumni-led organizations and country chapters to inform tailored capacity building sessions based on identified gaps. Alumni will also plug in to networking and capacity building opportunities provided by their country chapters.

Alumni Honor Roll

Alumni of the program are encouraged to continue leveraging the tools, skills, and knowledge that they learned during the 4-week program to bring transformation to their communities and cascade the training to other youth in their countries.

They are also encouraged to Pay-it-Forward through the 3P’s (Philanthropy, Perpetuate and Participate).

This approach will ensure that every young man and woman in East and Central Africa would have the opportunity to be empowered to take steps to improve quality of life in their homes, communities, and countries.
